I can not find the Windows 98 product key.

While I am setting up Windows, a message asks to type the Windows Product Key. Where can I find it then?

The Windows Product Key can be found at different places. It depends on a version of Windows 98 CD-ROM that you have.
If you have the CD-ROM which is titled [Microsoft Windows 98], see the cover of [Getting Started Microsoft Windows 98] booklet which came with the Windows 98 CD-ROM. The Product Key will be above the bar code on the cover page.
If you have the CD-ROM which is titled [Gateway Operating System Backup CD], see a case of your computer. The Product Key sticker will be on the case of your computer. The place may vary such as;
- Desktop Series -- The sticker is located at a side of your computer.
- Portable Series -- The sticker is located at a bottom of your computer.
