To install the driver of Telepath Pro 56K Voice Modem, some files are needed to be read by Window 98 after the computer restarts. To pass this operation, please follow the procedure below.
- Windows will restart after installing the driver of Telepath Pro 56K Voice Modem. Once Windows is restarted, the following message will appears. Click on [OK].
Click on [OK].
- "Insert Disk" window with message "The file 'wm0081.cat! on US.Robotics 56K Voice Win can not be found" will appear. Please check the version of your System Restoration CD and insert it into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Then follow the instruction below.
- If you have the System Restoration CD version 3.2-6.4, type as below in [Copy files from;] box. Then click [OK].
D:\Win95-98\Modem\Usr56pci
- If you have the System Restoration CD version 6.8-7.0, type as below in [Copy files from;] box. Then click [OK].
D:\Win9x\Modem\Usr56pciFullerton
Note:
[D:] represent a letter of CD/DVD-ROM drive and vary in each system, like (E:), (F:), (R:) and so on. Check the letter of your CD/DVD-ROM drive in My Computer.
- [Insert Disk] window appears with prompting to insert Windows 98 (Second Edition) CD-ROM.
But do not insert Window 98 CD-ROM, but leave the System Restoration CD in the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Then click [OK].
- [Insert Disk] window appears with a message stating [The file 'wmwave.cat' on Windows 98 (Second Edition) CD cannot be found]. Follow the operation below.
- If you have the System Restoration CD version 3.2-6.4, type as below in [Copy files from;] box. Then click [OK].
D:\Win95-98\Modem\Usr56pci
- If you have the System Restoration CD version 6.8-7.0, type as below in [Copy files from;] box. Then click [OK].
D:\Win9x\Modem\Usr56pciFullerton
- The computer continues to start up, and the desktop screen appears. This completes the driver installation.
To confirm the driver installation, locate and click on [Start], [Settings], and [Control Panel]. Then Double-click the [System] icon, and click [Device Manager] tab.
Click [+] sing next to the [Modem] and [Sound, video and game controllers], then check the following items are listed.
- [U.S. Robotics 56K Voice Win] under [Modem]
- [U.S. Robotics Serial Wave Device] under [Sound, video and game controllers]
