Update: 2000/07/21
When I checked Hard Disk capacity in the "My Computer", the capacity is smaller than I ordered.
This Hard Disk capacity error is happened because of the calculation difference between Operating system and Hard Disk manufactures. The operating system uses the assumption that 1MB is equal to 1.024 bytes. The Hard Disk manufacture consider 1MB to be equal to 1.000 bytes. Here is the notation difference between hard disks and operating systems.
For example: If you have 18 GB of the hard disk drive, it will be around 16.7 GB in Windows. 18 x (1000/1024) x (1000/1024) x (1000/1024) = 16.76380634308 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
