Update: 2000/07/21 Hard Disk capacity is smaller than I ordered. When I checked Hard Disk capacity in the "My Computer", the capacity is smaller than I ordered. This issue is for   All system This Hard Disk capacity error is happened because of the calculation difference between Operating system and Hard Disk manufactures. The operating system uses the assumption that 1MB is equal to 1.024 bytes. The Hard Disk manufacture consider 1MB to be equal to 1.000 bytes. Here is the notation difference between hard disks and operating systems. The notation of the hard disk uses 10n unit The notation of operating systems uses 2n unit 1T [Tera] = 1000G 1T [Tera] = 1024G 1G [Giga] = 1000M 1G [Giga] = 1024M 1M [Mega] = 1000K 1M [Mega] = 1024K 1K [Kiro] = 1000 1K [Kiro] = 1024 For example: If you have 18 GB of the hard disk drive, it will be around 16.7 GB in Windows. 18 x (1000/1024) x (1000/1024) x (1000/1024) = 16.76380634308
