Update: 2000/09/11
There are very small dots (bright ones or black ones) on my Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). These bright dots and black dots are called Dot Defects. LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) is made with very high technology. Especially the TFT (Thin Film Transistor) display is constructed by many semiconductor dots, as LCD become larger, more semiconductor dots are needed. Dot defects are normal in all LCD screens. This is not just a Gateway issue. Dot defects occur at the time of manufacturing and do not get worse as a result of use. At present, it is very difficult for the technology to make all the huge number of semiconductor dots work well without any defects. We have the standard for acceptable Dot Defects and all the Gateway product has been passed this standard. If there are one or a few Dot Defects on LCD, it is usually considered as normal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
