Audio

To install the driver
Preparing for Installation
  Solo / Profile System CD 6.3P

  1. Start Windows.

  2. On your screen, locate and click on [Start] button.  From the Start menu, select [Settings] then click on [Control Panel].

  3. In the "Control Panel", double click on [System] icon, then "System Properties" window appears.

    On the [System Properties] window, click on [Device Manager] tab, then double click on "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" listed under "Other devices".

    If you can not find "PCI Multimedia Audio Device", click on [+] sign next to "Other devices".

  4. From the Properties window, click on [Reinstall Driver].

  5. When the [Update Device Driver Wizard] window appears, click on [Next].

  6. Select "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now. (Recommended)", then click on [Next].

  7. When the window appears which is asking you to select the location of device driver files, insert the System CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

    If "System Restoration CD" window pops up on your Windows desktop screen, close the window by clicking [x] mark where is located at the top of the right-hand side corner of the window.

  8. Select "Specify a location" and remove the checkmark from the other check box.   Then in the text box under "Specify a location", type as below and click on [Next].!--FEND-->

    D:\Solo2150\Win95-98\Audio

    CAUTION
    (D:) represents a letter of CD/DVD-ROM drive and vary in each system. If you do not know a letter of your CD/DVD-ROM drive, double click on [My Computer] icon. At the bottom of CD/DVD-ROM icon, there is a drive letter of CD/DVD-ROM drive like a (D:),(E:),(R:) and so on.

  9. When the "Windows driver file search for the device" window appears, click on [Next].

  10. When the [Copying Files...] window with the message "The file 'eapci2m.ecw' on Creative SB AudioPCI 64V Driver Disk cannot be found" appears, type D:\Solo2150\Win95-98\Audio in the text box "Copy files from", and then click on [OK].

  11. When the [Copying Files...] window with the message "The file 'eapci4m.ecw' on Creative SB AudioPCI 64V Driver Disk cannot be found" appears, click on [Skip File].

  12. When the [Copying Files...] window with the message "The file 'eapci8m.ecw' on Creative SB AudioPCI 64V Driver Disk cannot be found" appears, click on [Skip File].

  13. When the [Update Device Driver Wizard] window with the message "Windows has finished installing an updated driver for your hardware device" appears, click on [Finish].

  14. When the [Creative SB AudioPCI 64V Properties] window appears, click on [Close].

  15. When the [System Properties] window appears, click on [OK] to close the window.

  16. Take out the System CD from your CD/DVD-ROM drive.

  17. On your screen, locate and click on [Start] button.   From the Start menu, click on [Shut Down].

  18. From the [Shut Down Windows], select "Restart" and click on [OK] to restart your computer.



    To confirm the Installation
  19. Locate and click on [Start], [Settings], and [Control Panel].

  20. Double click on [System] icon and click on [Device Manager] tab.

  21. On the [Device Manager] window, click [+] sign next to the "Sound, video and game controllers".   You will see following items below the "Sound, video and game controllers":

    Creative Gameport Joystick
    Creative SB AudioPCI 64V
    Creative SB AudioPCI 64V Legacy Device



    Another Installation for SOLO 2150

    Modem
    Monitor
    DVD Decoder Card
    Multi-function Keyboard
    TouchPad
    Video
