    Procedure with pictures

  1. Start the Windows.

  2. Insert the System CD into your either CD/DVD-ROM drive.

    If [Desktop System CD] window pops up on your Windows desktop screen, close the window by clicking [x] mark where is located at the top of the right-hand side corner of the window.

  3. On your screen, locate and click on [Start] button.   From the Start menu, point to [Settings] and click [Control Panel].  In the [Control Panel], double-click [System] icon.


  4. On the [System Properties], click on the [Device Manager].  Under the "Other Devices", remove both "PCI Input Controller" and "PCI Multimedia Audio Device".

  5. Click [Refresh].

  6. The [Update Device Driver Wizard] window appears, select "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)" and then click [Next].

  7. Select "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now (Recommended)" and place a check on "Specify a location".

  8. In the text box under the "Specify a location", type as below.  Then click [Next].

    (D:) represents a letter of CD/DVD-ROM drive and vary in each system. If you do not know a letter of your CD/DVD-ROM drive, double click on [My Computer] icon. At the bottom of CD/DVD-ROM icon, there is a drive letter of CD/DVD-ROM drive like a (D:),(E:),(R:) and so on.

  9. The [Update Device Driver Wizard] appears again, click [Next].

  10. After copying files, click [Finish].

  11. The [Update Device Driver Wizard] window appears, select "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)" and then click [Next].

  12. Select "Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now (Recommended)" and place a check on "Specify a location".

  13. In the text box under the "Specify a location", type as below.  Then click [Next].

  14. The [Update Device Driver Wizard] appears again, click [Next].

  15. After copying files, click [Finish].

  16. The [System Settings Change] window appears.  Click [Yes] to restart your computer.

  17. This will complete the driver installation.


    To confirm the Installation

  1. Locate and click on [Start], [Settings], and [Control Panel].

  2. Double click on [System] icon and click on [Device Manager] tab.

  3. On the [Device Manager] window, click [+] sign next to the "Sound, video and game controllers".   You will see "Creative Gameport Joystick", "Creative MultiMedia Interface" and "Creative SB Live! SB16 Emulation" below the "Sound, video and game controllers".
